This year marks the 30th year of Business People magazine. Some of you have followed it for all of those years, even if you don’t want to admit you’ve been around as long as me. When I moved to Fort Wayne from Kalamazoo, MI in 1987 to start the business, I didn’t know what was in store for me, my family and my business. Lots of things have changed in the last 30 years, most for the better. Some, not so much. I’ll focus on the positive here.
As much as I will always love my native Michigan, I have been in Fort Wayne far longer than I have lived in any other city. Fort Wayne, northeast Indiana really, is home. I love my life here. In 30 years I have made wonderful friendships, most of which stem from my business practices and relationships. It is almost impossible to be in a public place and not see someone I know. Those occurrences serve to remind me how lucky I am to be here.
This community has been very good to me. The northeast Indiana business community has supported my efforts to start and grow this business from the beginning. I will always be grateful for the support I have received, and continue to receive, from the fine businesses and business people who work here.
In November we will celebrate with the 30th anniversary edition of Business People magazine. It will be a commemorative piece that I hope will be worthy of being displayed on your coffee table. I hope you will join us and be a part of the 30th anniversary issue.
