Linking Talent with Opportunity
Aug 7, 2017

I was recently speaking with a small business owner. He lamented that he had only received three applications for an open position. He said, “the exact same position was open two years ago, and I had 80 resumes to choose from.”

With unemployment at its lowest since pre-recession years, employers in Northeast Indiana and throughout the country are experiencing challenges finding the right talent to fill open jobs. To aid both employers and job seekers, the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership has created a free Jobs and Internships Portal as a “one stop shop” for jobs in our 11-county region.

The job market is competitive for employers! Standing out in a sea of job postings will give your position an edge. Make sure to add keywords for search optimization. In addition to the basic job information, create a robust, engaging post by including detailed responsibilities and benefits. In today’s market, job seekers are looking for competitive, innovative benefits as well as salary. After completing your job post and confirming the link via email, your job will be live on the site within 48 hours, and it will remain on the site for 30 days or the length of time you specify.

If you are searching for your next career move, check frequently, as new positions are added daily! On the jobs portal, you can filter opportunities by industry, city, county, zip code, experience level or keyword, such as “marketing.” From a specific posting, you can connect to the company’s website to apply immediately and learn more about the company.

We know that quality of life and area amenities go hand-in-hand with job opportunities, so links to resources about living in Northeast Indiana, community accolades and relocation information are provided from the jobs portal as well.
