The 13th annual Tribute Dinner took place Sept. 6 at the Parkview Mirro Center for Research and Innovation. The dinner welcomed more than 300 people to honor local individuals touched by cancer as well as caregivers and medical professionals. The evening featured keynote speaker Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe of Kendallville who shared her story of tenacity through her days in the Marine Corps to undergoing weeks of treatment after being diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a bone marrow cancer, in 2016. Cancer Services also awarded the 2017 Champion of Hope to longtime volunteer Judy Hass for her tireless effort to inform others of the emotional and practical services Cancer Services provides.
