The Coliseum added premium seating areas with the arena expansion in 2002. At that time, private luxury suites and club seats were added with a new upper deck. The recent overhaul was the first renovation since the expansion. The two premium areas, Club East and Club West, are connected by a corridor with walls bedecked with framed photographs and lists of performers who have played the Coliseum.
The 2002 expansion included raising the roof by 41 feet 10 inches, adding 318 club seats and 25 suites with a total premium seating capacity of 842. There are 16-person and 26-person suites as well as a 100-person Budweiser Super Suite. Club seats are sold with a personal seat license where owners pay an annual fee for the right to purchase tickets for their seats. The suites are typically owned by one company or shared by multiple entities on a multi-year annual ownership agreement. Many of the suites are subleased, coordinated by a team at the Coliseum dedicated
to personal service, high quality food and attending to every detail.
According to Nathan Dennison, vice president of sales at the Coliseum, “There are many benefits to sitting in club seats, such as more legroom, cup holders and servers for food and drink. Suite guests can either order food in advance to be delivered, or order from the day-of menu with attendants taking orders during the event.”
Other in-suite amenities include comfortable chairs, a coffee table, buffet counters and drink rail; custom catering from snacks to gourmet dining; wet bar refrigerator; television monitor for up-close viewing; private access from the suite concourse; private coat closet; and upscale restroom facilities.
“With the recent renovation, the suites have new carpeting, new wall coverings, comfortable new furniture, new quartz countertops, new high-tech refrigerators and new glass backsplashes,” says Dennison.
There are many benefits of suite ownership, such as access to tickets for all preseason and regular season Komets, Mad Ants and Mastodons games; options to purchase pre-sale tickets for all other Coliseum Arena events; two VIP parking spaces for arena events; access to the private suite concourse; and a full-time staff at your service.
The super suite is a unique option for special events as well, depending on availability for each individual event. “The super suite has a maximum capacity of 100 people with plenty of seating, including 40 arena seats plus low and high tables, said Dennison. “It’s a very popular choice for large groups that want to sit together and get food and beverage in one place for Komets games.”
