What is the first movie you ever saw in a theater? Probably an early Disney movie, but I think Star Wars in 1977 I remember most
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? Musician or an architect
What famous person would you most like to meet? Gordon Ramsey
What is your favorite part of your job? Solving someone’s problems
What do you actually do at your job? Manage staff, research technology trends, design technology solutions
What do you love most about Fort Wayne? Local history. Fort Wayne has actually had a global impact over the past 200+ years. It breaks my heart to hear people complain that this city is boring and there is nothing to do.
What was your first job? I sold night crawlers for three summers when I was 6 until I was 8 years old. I remember making about $80 each summer!
What is your greatest accomplishment? Graduating from Ball State University’s College of Architecture & Planning. It took me five applications to get accepted, and once accepted I did the entire first year in two and half months in the summer and graduated, winning the Outstanding Community Based Projects Program award that year.
Who is your hero? Jesus Christ hands down. He gave His life as a ransom for my sins so that whomever will believe will be saved.
What is your biggest pet peeve? Indiana drivers. DO NOT GET ME STARTED.
If you won $500 million in the lottery, what would you do with the money? Start a special needs camp in northern Michigan
What three items would you want with you if you were stranded on a desert island (other than food and water)? My Bible, pictures of my family and a boat. You did say anything right?
Who would you like to see perform in concert? Claude Gordon, Herbert Clark, George Gershwin, Claude Debussy and many more…
If you could travel anywhere, where would you go? Israel
How often do you exercise? My rights? As often as appropriate.
What does your workout regimen consist of? Well, probably not what you think. Claude Gordon’s Systematic Approach, Daily Trumpet Routines, Irons, Clarke Studies, Colin Advanced Flexibility Studies, Lozano and Caruso Exercises, Herring Etudes, St. Jacomes and ensemble music.
What’s in your refrigerator right now? Refrigerator“S” – I have 6 kids so I would say it would be easier to tell you what is NOT in my fridge and that would be anchovies. No, we don’t have any anchovies at this time.
What is something nobody knows about you? I really enjoy metal detecting.
Do you have any secret talents? I can draw and sketch pretty well.
What’s your biggest fear? Wasps/bees. Not honey bees because I think they are more like flying teddy bears. Wasps have an attitude and are bullies. Yes, I have a bookshelf in my garage with nothing but cans of RAID.
Vacation spot? Lake Leelanau, Michigan
Holiday? Why? Christmas – Christmas lights of course. I have a large collection of antique Christmas lights in their original boxes. I have one set from 1906 of which there are only two known
Sports team? The Shiloh Eagles (From Facing the Giants)
Band or music group or singer? Way too many groups here to count. Mostly jazz and classical and The Old Crown Brass Band of course!
Song? From all the volumes of music I own and love dearly, I would have to say it is a song my Grandmother use to sing to me as a child, “Said The Man in the Moon.”
Movie? A Christmas Story, also The Book of Matthew (Bruce Marchiano)
