The Last Word

It’s hard to believe it has been an entire year since I was hired as the editor of Business People and Fort Wayne Living. It’s harder still to believe I was an intern here eight years ago.

The last year has been tremendous for my professional growth and development. I love working with a group of people who collaborate and work together so seamlessly. Across our different positions and departments, we are all working toward the same goal of putting together top-notch publications and helping the businesses of northeast Indiana grow. I enjoy working with the businesses of northeast Indiana and helping share their stories. I’m fortunate to manage a great team of freelancers who help tell those business’ stories. Coming into this position a year ago, I was given tasks and responsibilities I had never experienced. We’ve had some big hurdles to jump over the last year – including a month in which we produced three magazines as well as a 100th anniversary hardcover book for the Building Contractors Association. I’m proud to say that alongside my stellar co-workers, we’ve put together some excellent publications!

Working at BP and FWL has also been tremendous for my personal well-being and happiness. The company fosters such a positive environment! I look forward to coming to work every day! You spend one-third of your day at the office, shouldn’t you be happy during your time there? I’m so fortunate that I look forward to each day and come away feeling positive from my time here. No day feels like work when you enjoy what you do so thoroughly.

I’m grateful to mark my one-year anniversary with a business I believe in and am happy to be part of. I hope you’ve enjoyed the last year’s publications as much as I have and thank you for being loyal readers! Cheers!
