The first week of June was awesome in Fort Wayne, Indiana. It started June 3 when Paul McCartney brought his Freshen Up Tour to the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum. Tickets were on the pricey side and I wasn’t sure the concert would be worth it. As it turns out, he knows how to put on a show. It was an excellent concert and I highly recommend you see it. Lots of dates still on the calendar.
Then Mitch Ryder was in town on Friday night at the Foellinger Theatre. If you don’t know Mitch’s music, check out Devil With the Blue Dress On on YouTube. Good entertainment.
Erin’s House for Grieving Children hosted Marcus Luttrell, a former Navy Seal and author of the book, Lone Survivor, at its Common Bond Breakfast on Thursday. Wonderful event.
Last, but certainly not least, many thanks to Mike Gouloff, CEO at Elevatus Architecture, for his hard work in putting together the weekend entertainment with the Fort Wayne Airshow. This is the third time Mike has led the effort to put on a world class airshow that is free for all who want to attend. See Page 78 for more about Mike.
The Air Force Thunderbirds were the main attraction and didn’t disappoint the crowd of over 38,000 on Saturday and around 20,000 (iffy weather may have kept some people away) on Sunday. It was a perfect family event.
Many thanks to all of the people who are responsible for bringing these awesome events to Fort Wayne and to all of the attendees.
