Hylant is celebrating the recent expansion of its Indiana footprint to the Elkhart, South Bend and Mishawaka areas through the acquisition of Cobalt Benefits.
Cobalt Benefits has proudly served the Elkhart community for almost 20 years. Mary Whitt, owner and president of Cobalt Benefits, has joined Hylant to expand upon the self-funding and partial self-funding brokerage services she has provided, expanding the resources available to the Elkhart community to property and casualty, M&A, captive solutions, cybersecurity solutions and personal insurance brokerage and advisory services. The new Elkhart location will have a dedicated team of experts, including Whitt and a committed client service team. The team will continue to provide the personal touch of a local broker with access to the depth and breadth of Hylant experts.
This newest acquisition, part of Hylant’s robust growth goals, builds upon existing offices in Fort Wayne, Indianapolis and Bloomington. Hylant plans to add more employees to the Indiana teams, with recruits in sales, client service, claims, captive services and mergers and acquisitions.
In 1935, Edward P. Hylant formed an insurance agency, promising to deliver exemplary service and to treat his clients like family – with honesty and respect. Three generations later, Hylant is one of the largest privately held brokerages in the U.S., with more than 800 employees across the country.
To strengthen and protect businesses, employees and communities of our client family by embracing them as our own.
