What kinds of things are brides and grooms looking for when selecting their rings?
Most brides are looking for something unique that represents their personality. They also want  something their friends don’t already have. We are seeing more women selecting fancy-shaped cuts like oval, emerald and pear. The men we see opting for more classic styling. In the past, we have noticed a trend toward alternative metals for men’s rings, but in recent years we are seeing more noble metals like 14- and 18-karat gold, as well as platinum. For both men and women, there has been a resurgence in the popularity of luxury metals.

Which metals are most popular, and what are the benefits of those?
Platinum is quite popular, as it is now more affordable than ever. People appreciate the benefits of platinum because of its durability and its whiteness. It is the purest metal available. Yellow and rose gold are also making a comeback, as well as 14-karat white gold, which is affordable and lasting. There is some maintenance required with white gold, as it needs to be rhodium-plated to keep the original color. Cobalt is another popular metal that is affordable and also scratch-resistant.  

What advice would you give to couples choosing their wedding rings?
