Felger’s Peat Moss has been a strong advertising supporter of ours for many years. My sincere thanks to everyone in the Felger family. Last month, the Business People cover story was about Felger’s. It’s an awesome family business that has now been operating for over 70 years. Not too shabby.
In its long, successful history, Felger’s has been featured on local news broadcasts, has advertised on many different platforms and received editorial coverage in multiple publications, among other exposures.
Shortly after the March Business People issue hit readers’ hands, I received a phone call from Matthew Felger. I didn’t tell him this, but I am always afraid to take calls from business people who have been featured in a recent issue of our publications; we are human and make mistakes.
I quickly prepared myself for an unhappy conversation as I answered Matthew’s call.
Much to my pleasure, he was calling to tell me how pleased everyone at Felger’s is with the story. Within less than a week of the magazines hitting readers’ hands, he wanted to tell me that the story had created the greatest response of anything Felger’s had ever done in 70 years of operation. WHEW!
It is this feedback that keeps us all going here at the magazine. We’ve done our research and know we have 75,000 readers each month. We know that being featured in our publications is good for the businesses that choose to be featured. But it always helps to hear from the people who are benefitting from and getting a great response to their story.
