In what city did you grow up? Darien, Connecticut until I was four-years-old, and then Fort Wayne.
What book has had the greatest impact on you? I recently read “From Strength to Strength” by Arthur C. Brooks and it really resonated with me, given the stage of life I’m in.
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? An architect, until I realized I was lacking talent.
What famous person would you most like to meet? Warren Buffett.
What is your favorite part of your job? Building a team, setting the direction, stepping out of the way and seeing the growth.
What was your first job? Painting curbs for Lassus Brothers. I don’t recommend it. Sorry, Greg and Todd.
What is your greatest accomplishment? Raising our three kids to be happy and self-assured.
Who is your hero? My dad.
What is your dream job? Owning an outfitter/ski and bike shop in the mountains.
What would you choose as your last meal? Carne asada tacos.
What three items would you want with you if you were stranded on a desert island (other than food and water)? A knife, a lighter and a satellite phone, although I wouldn’t know what to do with the first two.
Who would you like to see perform in concert? Right now I’m into the Black Pumas.
If you could travel anywhere, where would you go? Japan is on my list.
What does your workout regimen consist of? I’m pretty disciplined when it comes to my workouts. I exercise six days a week — running, cycling, resistance and yoga. Oh, and cold plunging.
What profession would you never try? Anything where I could fall to my death.
If you could solve one major problem, what would it be? Universal access to clean water.
Where will you go on your next vacation? I’m taking my wife to Paris for her birthday in March.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given? True happiness comes from helping others.
What is the best gift you have ever been given? Letters from my kids.
If you hosted a talk show, who would be your first guest? Will Ferrell. He would make my job easy.
What is one important skill you think everyone should have? Self-awareness.
If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would you win a medal in? I make a pretty good egg sandwich.
What fad do you wish would come back or stay gone forever? Jackets with shoulder pads need to stay gone forever.
Who was your first celebrity crush? Farrah Fawcett in her red bathing suit.
What is the strangest thing you’ve ever eaten? Rocky Mountain oysters.
If you could send a message to the entire world, what would you say in 30 seconds? Just be kind.
If you received enough money to never need to work again, what would you spend your time doing? I would probably live in the mountains, and ski and mountain bike.
When was the last time you cried and why? I cried for a week a few months ago when Stella, our 16-year-old Springer Spaniel, passed away.
What is something that never fails to make you laugh? Cat and dog videos.
What is the first movie you ever saw in a theater? The first that I remember is “Star Wars.”
What do you actually do at your job? I focus my time on five buckets: Vision, strategy, talent, client relationships and financial management.
What do you love most about Fort Wayne? I love what’s going on at Electric Works. We’re just getting started. I also love the people in Fort Wayne.
What is your biggest pet peeve? Not being prepared.
Do you have a motto you live by? If so, what is it? Be humble and hardworking.
If Hollywood made a movie about your life, whom would you like to cast as you? Someone young and good looking.
If you had a time machine, where and to what time period would you travel? The Roaring 20s were pretty cool.

If you could give your 15 year-old self advice, what would it be? Don’t be afraid to fail.

When was the last time you tried something new? I actually feel like I try new things every day.

What moment in your life would you most like to go back and relive? I loved watching my kids play sports.
What do you collect? Nothing. At this stage, I’m trying not to add more stuff to my life.
