Calling all golfers! Summer is almost (officially) here and that means it’s golf season. If you like showing off your swing, Fort Wayne International Airport invites you to join us for the annual Fort Wayne International Airport Scholarship and Education Golf Outing on Friday, Aug. 16 at Brookwood Golf Club.
The Fort Wayne International Airport Scholarship and Education Golf Outing is an annual event hosted by the Airport Authority. The outing raises money for the Fort Wayne International Airport Aviation Scholarship, which awards scholarships to local high school seniors looking to pursue degrees and careers in aviation or aviation-related fields. In addition to providing scholarships to graduating seniors, funds raised through the outing will also be used to support aviation education initiatives in Fort Wayne and northeast Indiana.
Over recent months, facility tours at both FWA and Smith Field Airport (SMD) have been reintroduced with a focus on school-age children, showing the next generation of aviators many different aspects of airport operations. Airport staff is committed to finding avenues to bring the joys of aviation to an expanded audience through programming, events and more. The FWA Scholarship and Education Golf Outing is a great chance to celebrate both the history and future of aviation while enjoying golf for a great cause!
The outing is scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m., with breakfast and lunch provided to all players. Registration for a foursome is $300 and includes breakfast, 18 holes of golf, two golf carts per team, unlimited snacks and beverages, and more. There are also a number of sponsorship opportunities including event title sponsorships, beverage cart sponsorships and hole sponsorships, among others.
